2022 Model 3s now shipping with improved frunk water channelling measures

US-made Model 3s are now shipping with what looks like a static, replaceable wiper-blade fitted under the hood of the car.
YouTuber and President & Founder of the Tesla Owners Club of Michigan, Dirty Tesla, just took delivery of their new RWD Model 3 and shared some photos on Twitter of the car and pointed out that the vehicle appears to have a new fitting which looks to prevent water from draining straight down towards the frunk.
We aren't sure what their main purpose is, but it might be to help channel the water away from the low voltage battery which is seated just under the panel to the left of the wiper fluid inlet.
Model 3s have had a weird history with their water-channelling. After all, the Model 3 was redesigned in 2021 (with the introduction of the powered trunk) to include a new channel to prevent water from running directly into the trunk.
Tesla themselves advise against keeping anything that could be susceptible to water damage from the frunk as it isn't fully sealed compared to the rear end of the vehicle and water can sometimes run into and sit in the floor of the frunk.
We'll have to see if these improvements/changes make it to other factories – Tesla may only be trialing it to see how effective it is.
