RWD Model Y (likely with LFP battery) is now available to order in Europe

Spotted by Twitter user @ModelYOwnerDACH, the Model Y RWD is now listed on Tesla's configurator.

Tesla has added the RWD Model Y to the configutator in Europe. We expect this to follow the new RWD Model 3 and use an LFP battery.

Boasting a 455km WLTP range, it appears to be up to €10,000—€15,000 cheaper in some European countries, being around €3,000 cheaper than a MYLR in Germany. It's £6,000 cheaper than Model Y LR in the UK.

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries can be (and should be) charged to 100% regularly, they last longer than Nickel-cobalt-aluminium (NCA) batteries and are more efficient. NCA batteries are currently used in the Long Range and Performance models of the 3, Y and all Model S and Model X. NCA batteries have a high energy density, which means they can deliver more power and performance which is why the new LFP Model 3s are rated slower 0-100 kph speeds.

Tesla recommends charging your NCA-Tesla to 90 per cent to preserve its long-term health. Whereas with the LFP, it says:

If your vehicle is equipped with an LFP Battery, Tesla recommends that you keep your charge limit set to 100%, even for daily use, and that you also fully charge to 100% at least once per week. If Model 3 has been parked for longer than a week, Tesla recommends driving as you normally would and charge to 100% at your earliest convenience.

This is from their High Voltage page.

The prices are attractive, what do you think?
